Highlights: England v France

England emerged triumphant from the inaugural Autumn Nations Cup after staging a second-half fightback to beat France 22-19 in sudden death at Twickenham.

Owen Farrell kicked the opening points of the final but France responded in style as Matthieu Jalibert fed Brice Dulin for a superb try on 14 minutes, which Jalibert converted.

Further penalties from Jalibert put Les Bleus 13-6 ahead at the break while Louis Carbonel added two three-pointers of his own after the restart to put the visitors 19-12 ahead.

A couple of Farrell penalties had kept England in touch but the game appeared to be slipping away from Eddie Jones’ men, who trailed by seven points with just minutes left to play.

Yet the Red Rose roared back in the final seconds of the game as replacement hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie burrowed over from short range and Farrell tied the scores from the tee.

Farrell missed an opportunity to win it for the hosts at the start of sudden death but he made amends with five minutes of extra time to go to secure victory for England.
